Based on several weather forecasts it appears that Pacific Storm Window is opening on California and the Sierra. That is good for the whole state but especially for skiers. Click on the link below for the complete forecast but to summarize he is saying that the upper elevations on the west side of Lake Tahoe could by Monday have forty to fifty inches of new snow. This is a warm storm coming from Hawaii with lots of moisture. Over the weekend we should see fluctuating snow levels with most of the precipitation being rain below 7000 ft. and snow above. Hopefully we finally get a good dense base. He goes on to say that we should have a break Monday afternoon and then another storm Wednesday and Thursday, just in time for the President’s Day Weekend.
