An online survey is being conducted by the Tahoe Regional Planning Agency for the purpose of eliciting public comments concerning the existing bicycle and pedestrian network at Lake Tahoe. The survey will assist TRPA in developing a long-range plan for a “connected, accessible and safe bicycle and pedestrian network at Lake Tahoe.” Both residents and visitors are invited to participate. The objectives of the survey are to identify portions of the existing system that are working well, which are not, and what new facilities people would like to see added to the network. Creating walkable and bicycle-friendly communities is one of the goals of the 2012 Regional Plan. The survey, along with comprehensive information about the bike and pedestrian plan, can be accessed at the Tahoe Metropolitan Planning Organization website. The data collected will inform the production of “Linking Tahoe: Active Transportation Plan – Bicycles, Pedestrians and Safe Routes to Schools.”
The following community meetings will also be held to obtain further public comments:
• South Lake Tahoe Public Library, Tuesday, April 14, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm
• Kings Beach Elementary, Thursday, April 16, from 5:30 to 7:30 pm
