Now that the snow is starting to melt and the weather is turning warmer our choices for outdoor recreation in the lower elevations are starting to become available. Truckee has a number of great trails that are good for both paved and off road biking, hiking and running. Around North Lake Tahoe we don’t have any low elevation trails other than the Truckee River and Westshore bike paths which have now been cleared of snow. Below is a link to a Truckee.com article by Ben Hogan with some good suggestions. He also makes some recommendations for road cycling rides. I have ridden both the Commemorative Emigrant Trail and part of the Truckee River Legacy Trail, they are both good early season get in shape rides.
