Grab your lawn chairs, June marks the start of a wonderful summer concert series in the North Lake Tahoe Truckee area. With a textured selection of music, these concerts present a great spot to hang out and listen to music while sampling some of the notable local beer and outstanding food. Locations of these concerts taking place starting in June include Commons Beach in Tahoe City, Kings Beach, Historic Downtown Truckee, Squaw Valley, Grass Valley and Soda Springs.
- Concerts at Commons Beach Starting June 19th, Tahoe City audiences will have access to free concerts every Sunday afternoon http://tdrpd.org/regional_park.htmlcontinuing all the way to September 4th. The concert series line up and schedule can be found here.
- Music on the Beach Every Friday, from June 17th to September 2nd (Excluding July 1 & Aug. 12), there is another free concert series starting in Kings Beach State Recreation Area in North Tahoe. The music lineup and extra information can be found here.
- Music in the Park Every Wednesday from June 22nd to August 31st in the “Salty” Gebhardt Amphitheater at the Truckee Regional Park is more free music for locals and guests to enjoy. The concerts start at 6:30pm and go until 8:00 or 9:00pm depending on how long the bands want to play. This is a great amphitheater overlooking the Truckee River. The lineup of performing bands can be down loaded on the Truckee Donner Recreation Park District website.
- Truckee Thursdays As you can probably already figure out, Truckee Thursdays happens every Thursday starting June 9th in Truckee from 5 – 8:30pm. Attractions include local beer from the beer garden, food from the farmers market, a street fair, and even an area for the kids. - Bluesdays In the Village at Squaw Valley, there is a concert series focused entirely on music of the Blue variety. Bluesdays happens every Tuesday starting on June 14th, and is accompanied by good food, drink and spirits. People attending Bluesdays get discounted aerial tram and activity packages, lodging, food and drink specials in Squaw Valley. The music is from 6 – 8:30pm. - Worldfest Taking place at the Nevada County Fairgrounds in Grass Valley, the 20th Annual California Worldfest is taking place from July 14th – 17th being the first concert series on this post taking place in one weekend. Worldfest advertises 8 stages of music from around the world, camping, workshops, international food, and a renowned children’s program. More info can be found here.
- Guitarfish Four days of great music, camping, biking, hiking and swimming in a snow melt river make for a wonderful High Sierra experience. The Guitarfish Music Festival takes place July 28th – 31st at Cisco Grove River Park in Soda Springs on Donner Summit. There will be kids activities, a family camp and food and drinks available.
