Two Sierra Watch law suits challenging Squaw Valley’s approved Village Expansion Proposal have now been ruled against by Placer County Superior Court Judge Michael W. Jones. The current decision was on a challenge by Sierra Watch to the adequacy of the Environmental Impact Report in regards to regional impacts such as, emergency evacuations, noise, greenhouse gases, traffic, and water impacts. The judge ruled that the EIR did adequately address those issues.
As with the former decision, regarding Sierra Watch’s claim that Placer County violated the Brown Act by not posting a information on an agreement between Squaw Valley and TRPA in time for the public to react before the Board Meeting where the decision to approve the project was made, Sierra Watch has said they plan to file an appeal with the California Court of Appeals.
