Squaw Valley’s Travis Ganong Takes Super G Title at US Alpine Championships in Squaw Valley

Another local wins at Squaw Valley yesterday.  Travis Ganong, the 2010 Downhill and Super G US champion regained his title with a .20 win over US Downhill Champion Jared Goldberg of Holladay UT.  “I grew up training on this hill every day so it’s really nice to get on a familiar hill. The hometown crowd really motivates me to push it harder and really go for it,” said Travis after the race.  He went on to say, “This is more of a World Cup than a Nationals hill.  It’s pretty tricky, really steep out of the top with some blind turns.
