Squaw Valley’s 2012-2013 ski season ended Sunday with a beautiful sunny spring day on the upper mountain and a fun Pass Holders Party on the KT 22 Deck Bar. The snow on Shirley Lake and Granite Chief had a firm enough base that even though it was warm and the snow got soft the skiing was really good. I had the pleasure of skiing with my wife Mary Margaret and my daughter Amanda. The Pass Holders Party offered a great lunch with many choices for both the meal and the deserts and $3.00 beers. Squaw gave away a lot of nice raffle prizes; one pair of rocker skies, four GoPro Helmet Cams and a lot of Oakley Sunglasses and Goggles. It was a great way to end the season.
If you still haven’t had enough skiing, Alpine Meadows will be open this Friday – Sunday, and then they will be closed until next season. Mamouth Mountain will be open until Memorial Day and I have heard the skiing is great! If you are a season pass holder at a Tahoe Ski resort the lift ticket will only be $49.
