Spring Weather and Spring Activities at Lake Tahoe

Now that it is Spring we are experiencing our usual mixture of both beautiful warm sunny days and cold rainy or snowy days.  Lake Tahoe is full to within a few inches of its natural rim and locals have been breaking out their kayaks and paddle boards and spending time on the water.  Due to the “Miracle March” we had the skiing is quite good.  Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows have plans to stay open through Memorial Day.  The rest of the ski resorts in the Tahoe area will be closed by the end of April.

There are a number of fun and exciting events scheduled in the last half of April and all of May.  Here are a few with links to more details.

• April 14^th: The Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame at the Resort at Squaw Creek.
• From now to April 21^st: The KT Spring Music Series at Squaw Valley.
• From now to April 22^nd: The Alpine Meadows Spring Music Series.
• April 21^st: Tahoe Truckee Earth Day at The Village at Squaw Valley.
• April 27^th – April 28^th: Craw Thaw Music Festival in Truckee.
• April 28^th: The 28^th Annual Cushing Crossing at Squaw Valley.
• May 3^rd – May 5^th: The Peter Sagan Fondo Bike Event in Truckee.
• May 6^th: Kiwanis Club Benefit & Wine Auction at Sunnyside Restaurant and Lodge.
• May 26^th: Opening Day On The Lake.
