The Tahoe Conservation Resource District announced the opening of three roadside inspection stations with two more to open on May 23. The Truckee Police Department reports an unusual incident of vehicle break-in. A young bear became locked in an unlocked vehicle. Squaw Valley's 2012-2013 ski season ended Sunday with a beautiful sunny spring day on the upper mountain and a fun Pass Holders Party on the KT 22 Deck Bar. I had a great morning of spring skiing at Squaw Valley today. It had been cold enough last night for the snow to set up and it was a beautiful sunny day. I hiked out from the top of the Granite Chief chairlift into the area called The Glades and had a long wonderful run on nice soft spring snow.
