At its meeting on March 10th, the Placer County Board of Supervisors approved the expenditure of $1.5 million in Transit Occupancy Tax funds for ten projects in North Lake Tahoe. Transit Occupancy Tax is a fee paid by visitors for lodging of less than 30 days in the North Lake Tahoe area. Its purpose is to provide funds for infrastructure, transportation and other projects that contribute to the environment and the residents’ and visitors’ overall experience. Of the total amount, $1,065,359 is designated for trail rehabilitation, restoration, improvements and planning.
