North Lake Tahoe Snowfest is Coming!
The 2017 party and festivities are just around the corner- mark your calendar March 3-12 for our Annual Snowfest. Created in 1981, the theme this year is ‘Through the Years’- recognition and thanks for all the people and places that make Snowfest a great event. Let’s collectively hope for happy snow weather to dump on us all.
There’ll be 10 days of celebration and activities for all ages, with a number of resorts participating, including: Squaw Valley, Alpine Meadows, Homewood, Diamond Peak, and Northstar. Check out the online Events calendar to stay up to date on the happenings over the ten days.
The opening ceremonies and the crowning of the Snowfest Queen happen March 2 at the kick off party at Gar Woods Grill and Pier. They are also providing complimentary appetizers after the Polar Bear Swim on Saturday March 4. Earlier in the day, go to Tahoe City for the Parade.
A great recap of a previous year’s activities with photos brings back memories for those who have attended and gives you an idea of what to expect. Visit the SnowFest Facebook page for more information. Favorite past events include Wacky Winter Bowling, the Dawg Sled Race, the Hawaiian Pig Roast and separate Clam Bake, Wine ‘N Ice, Bar Game Olympics, and the Tahoe Donner Ididarun.
Plan for a hearty party and embrace the days of our 2017 Snowfest!
