Tahoma

Tahoma is located 8 miles south of Tahoe City. It is its own unique west shore community, complete with a small grocery store that rents movies, sells fresh pie, and a complete deli that makes the best homemade bread and sandwiches anywhere on the lake. There are also a few stores and local services such as a locksmith, hair salon, and a hotel. The Tahoma neighborhood is laid out in a grid of 10 by 6 streets. The neighborhood is level, sunny and open with mostly old style Tahoe cabins and vacation properties. This neighborhood is very popular with locals and is often thought of as its own little ‘city’ on the west shore. Tahoma is bordered by General’s Creek Camp ground on the south and Sugar Pine State Park to the South which offers hiking, swimming, back-country skiing, and camping.
