Tahoe City

A commercial hub of North Lake Tahoe and only 20 minutes from Interstate 80, Tahoe City offers visitors and locals a hint of city life in the mountains with its boutiques, galleries, golf course, bars and lakefront dining experiences. Tahoe City is the location of Lake Tahoe’s only outlet, the Truckee River.  At the intersection of Hwy 89 and Hwy 28 (also known as North Shore Blvd.) spectators can be seen bending over Fanny Bridge to watch the large trout that live in the out flow from the dam that controls the transfer of water from the lake into the river.

Those living in the Tahoe City area often live within walking distance of these wonderful amenities and for those who would rather jump on a bike, there are beautiful bike paths leading out of Tahoe City in every direction – whether you are headed to Olympic Valley, Sunnyside and the Westshore or Dollar Point.  The area also offers easy access to National Forest trails for, horseback riding, mountain biking, hiking and cross country skiing.

Homes in this area are a mixture of condominiums, a few “Old Tahoe” Cabins, 60’s, 70’s and 80’s, moderate vacation homes and many craftsman style luxury homes.
