Alpine Meadows

Just a few minutes north of the conveniences of Tahoe City and south of Truckee, Alpine Meadows is a long up sloping canyon at the top of which is the popular Alpine Meadows Side of Palisades Tahoe Ski Resort.  Enjoy this serene setting where aspens, colorful maple trees, and large pine trees and firs provide a scenic backdrop against the mountains for some moderate to very elegant custom homes.  Many of the homes in the different neighborhoods in Alpine Meadows are owned by locals and others are vacation homes.  The neighborhoods have year round creeks, are quite and have little trafic.  The Alpine Meadows side of Palisades Tahoe is prefered by many locals due to being family oriented, smaller than the Olympic Valley side and Northstar, and provides skiers and boarders with plenty of snow (400+ average annual snowfall each year) and moderate groomed runs as well as off piste challenging terrain.  There is also a Base to Base Gondola that connect both sides of Palisades Tahoe.

A horse stable for boarding or renting horses is available during the summer months near the entrance to the canyon.  In summer visitors can access many trails for hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding.  There is a small park with a swimming pond available for summer activities.  Alpine is very close to the Truckee River for fly fishing, kayaking or walking or biking on the paved bike path along the river to Tahoe City.

This is a very popular area year round with a good history for vacation rentals.
