Love a good horseback ride? You’ll really enjoy Horseback Riding Along Lake Tahoe’s North Shore! With three options available from wilderness trails to equestrian opportunities, North Lake Tahoe is a meritable setting for your riding adventures.
The Tahoe-Donner Equestrian Center is ideal for families and beginner riders. They are open Wednesday through Sunday until September 30. Trail rides with take you through lush valleys and up into mountain forests. Private lessons are available in one-hour increments.
The Piping Rock Equestrian Center has year-round riding and boarding available with all levels welcome. The Sierra Riding Academy offers riding instruction all year long. The Friday Junior Horseman Program and the After School Program give instruction in all facets of horsemanship for Lake Tahoe residents.
The Alpine Meadows Stables in Tahoe City has short-term and half day rides that you can schedule. Meander through Bear Creek, pine forests and wildflower meadows. Pony rides are available for little ones at $10 per child.
