Lake Tahoe and Truckee are known for their winter sports including alpine skiing, snowmobiling, back country skiing, and snow shoeing, but did you know there are some world class Cross Country or Nordic Ski trails in the area as well? Check out the full list:
North Lake Tahoe
With 4km of groomed cross country ski trails of meadow terrain with views of Lake Tahoe. Trails are groomed daily with both traditional cross country ski tracks and wide lane for skate skiing. Also available is snowshoeing, sledding and ice skating.
Tahoe Cross-Country (Tahoe XC)
A recreation area located on Dollar Hill, just outside Tahoe City has world-class grooming for cross-country skiing and snowshoeing trails, equipment rentals, and lessons for all ages.
Everline Resort & Spa offers 10 km of groomed Nordic trails which wind through a mountain meadow and lead into the hills beyond. Everline Resort and Spa offers cross country ski and snowshoe rentals to explore many of our nearby trails.

West Shore
You can explore 74 acres of resort trails and beyond to national forest as well as rent cross-country skis or snowshoes and head out to explore.
Visitors to the park can enjoy 11 miles of cross country ski and snowshoe trails. Follow the path of the Nordic events of the 1960 Winter Olympics that occurred in what is now Sugar Pine Point State Park and you will come across a series of interpretive panels that share the Olympic and Nordic skiing history.
Truckee
35 kilometers of scenic trails that are perfect for cross country skiing and snowshoeing.
The largest cross-country ski area in North America, Royal Gorge is known for its sweeping views of the Northern Sierra and eight distinct trail systems. Featuring 92 trails with 75 of groomed, tracked trails for human-powered outdoor recreation spread across 6,000 acres, guests of all ages and ability levels are invited to try classic cross-country skiing, skate skiing and snowshoeing.
25km trail system is groomed nightly to competition standards providing an always-perfect snow surface.
Tahoe Donner Cross Country Ski Center spans more than 2,800 acres with over 100 km of XC ski and snowshoe trails meander through meadows, over creeks and up to stunning alpine views.
Located off the Mt Rose Highway, 4 miles west of Mt Rose Ski Resort and 6 miles east of Incline Village. The trails are open to all uses- skate skiing, classic skiing, snowshoeing, and fat biking.
Located just across the highway from the downhill resort, the trails offer access to some of the most picturesque and diverse terrain in the region, excellent for classic & skate skiing, snowshoeing, and fat tire biking.

Lake Tahoe Community College (LTCC)
The Nordic center at LTCC offers 5-7km of groomed trails for both classic and skate skiing.
The 5 km system of meandering trails wind through dense forest, across an open meadow and along the banks of Spooner Lake.
