Skiing
Of course Tahoe in December is known for skiing and most, if not all Ski areas will be open by December for some fun. Here is a list of the major resorts and links to their December operations.

Snowshoeing
Tahoe Adventure Company offers guided snowshoe hikes both during the day, sunset, and full moon and star gazing tours. You can even opt into a warm drink and a grommet lunch while getting some exercise and learning about the local flora and fauna from one of their experienced snowshoe guides. Ice Skating
Northstar has a great ice scatting rink located in the heart of the village. A perfect place for a family outing or a romantic date. Go skating and then head to one of the great restaurants in the village for dinner or catch a movie at the Northstar theater. The skating rink opens every day at 2 pm. Skates are $15 to rent, or bring your own and skate for FREE! Check out their website or call before going to make sure they are open, operations are weather dependent. (530) 562-3689
Disco Tubing starts December 19
We’re bringing SnoVentures Activity Zone to life with colorful LED lights, lasers and live DJs from 5-8pm. Disco tubing is the family-friendly party where you spin down the tubing lanes to music and lights!
Times: 5pm, 6pm, and 7pm
Open November 30
Snow tubing is available all day as well, sessions are 55 minutes long and begin at the top of the hour
Tickets available for purchase online and at SnoVentures Activity Zone
Limited number of tickets per session in order to provide the best tubing experience
Tahoe Film Fest
December 5-8
The 10th annual Tahoe Film showcases new and important environmental films as a way of not only educating young people, but to celebrate the efforts of everyone who help to maintain the beauty Lake Tahoe and its surroundings. Tahoe Film Fest also celebrates a section of important American Independent Films, New Films from Latin America and award winning music documentaries.
All proceeds from Tahoe Film Fest benefit UC Davis Tahoe Environmental Research Center (TERC). For event information click Here.
Tahoe Live
December 14-15
Palisades Tahoe
Tahoe Live returns to Palisades Tahoe December 14-15. This year’s festival promises to deliver a lineup you won’t want to miss, with music legends Lil Wayne and Diplo headlining the event. For more info and tickets click here.
