Now that it is Spring we are experiencing our usual mixture of both beautiful warm sunny days and cold rainy or snowy days. Lake Tahoe is full to within a few inches of its natural rim and locals have been breaking out their kayaks and paddle boards and spending time on the water. Due to the “Miracle March” we had the skiing is quite good. Squaw Valley and Alpine Meadows have plans to stay open through Memorial Day. The rest of the ski resorts in the Tahoe area will be closed by the end of April.
There are a number of fun and exciting events scheduled in the last half of April and all of May. Here are a few with links to more details.
- April 14th: The Ski and Snowboard Hall of Fame at the Resort at Squaw Creek.
- From now to April 21st: The KT Spring Music Series at Squaw Valley.
- From now to April 22nd: The Alpine Meadows Spring Music Series.
- April 21st: Tahoe Truckee Earth Day at The Village at Squaw Valley.
- April 27th – April 28th: Craw Thaw Music Festival in Truckee.
- April 28th: The 28th Annual Cushing Crossing at Squaw Valley.
- May 3rd – May 5th: The Peter Sagan Fondo Bike Event in Truckee.
- May 6th: Kiwanis Club Benefit & Wine Auction at Sunnyside Restaurant and Lodge.
- May 26th: Opening Day On The Lake.
Another thing to remember is this is the time of discounted lodging and 2 for 1 dinner coupons at most of our wonderful restaurants. Come join us for great skiing and fun events.
