One of the best non-powder activities at Squaw Valley is watching other people enjoy extreme sports in the off season. It gets our hearts racing and our blood pumping as we think about hitting the slopes again as soon as the base is set.
You’ll see some impressive athletes and interesting films at Sqauw Valley this November!
The Alpenglow Winter Film Festival returns with the first speaker presenting on November 17th. Local Dave Nettle will be sharing his adventures as a professional climber at the Olympic Village Lodge at 7pm. There is no fee to attend. You can check out the rest of the Alpenglow Series schedule for December, January and February on the Squaw/Alpine Website.
Winter isn’t officially open until we see the latest Warren Miller film. The 67th annual is called Here, There and Everywhere and covers free skiing in Western Butte, Eastern Greenland by dogsled and glaciers that are continents apart. There’s even a trip to the Canadian Rockies via Kicking Horse and a return to Squaw among other exciting adventures. Our own Jonny Moseley narrates and Warren Miller shares his experiences. Your vicarious ski experience happens Friday and Saturday, November 25th and 26th from 7:340 to 9:00 at the Olympic Village Lodge. At the time of this writing, Squaw had not confirmed a price or link for tickets so check back on their website closer to the date.
