Preliminary applications for the Truckee Railyard were submitted to the Town of Truckee on October 2, 2014, by Truckee Development Associates. Since then numerous changes have been made to the plan including the location of the grocery store and parking. The Union Pacific Railroad balloon track facility will remain in its current location requiring an amendment to the Railyard Master Plan. The Town will provide feedback to the developer once revised plans incorporating the changes have been submitted. Subsequently, a formal application must be submitted along with a master plan amendment. If approved by the Town, construction could begin. The developer hopes to break ground in summer 2015.
