Groove Foundry, a powerhouse of musicians, will be at Bar of America in Truckee on Saturday, August 30 from 8-11pm, followed by the Commons Beach Concert on the shore of Lake Tahoe in Tahoe City on Sunday, August 31 from 3-4, where they are opening for Joy and Madness. On Wednesday, September 3rd, they have a 2-hour non-stop show at the “Salty” Gebhart Amphitheater in the Regional Park in Truckee from 6:30-8:30. Bring your own food and drinks to the outdoor concerts, which are fun for the entire family. Get out your calendars and be sure you make one or more of these fabulous shows!
Groove Foundry is an amazing group not to be missed. They have all played for well-known artists such as America, Santana, and Tom Jones to name a few. With three free concerts coming soon, you will have ample opportunity to enjoy them. If you make one of the earlier dates, you will surely go back for more. You can hear their music on the Groove Foundry Facebook Page, but it can’t compare to seeing this exciting and eclectic group of masters play together live.
Founding member Todd Mather (Sax,) along with Jen Campbell on Trumpet and Nak on Trombone, are the lead trio, with guitar, drums, percussion, keyboards, and co-founder Barney Drake on bass rounding out this 9-peice jazz soul band. Appearances recently have been rare as they all have ‘day jobs’, so this series of concerts is truly special. Mather is an architect in Tahoe City, and Jen is the owner of the Dam Café in Tahoe City. Todd Mather will be interviewed by ISSAC on Truckee Tahoe Radio 101.5 Monday night August 25th at 9:20, so tune in to hear about the band and listen to their music.
