A 2.2 mile extension of the Truckee River Legacy Trail, from west of the Tahoe-Truckee Sanitation Agency to Glenshire, will be christened at a ribbon-cutting ceremony to be held at the Glenshire/Devonshire Monument sign on August 8th at 4:00 pm. A bike ride will then be held from Glenshire to Truckee River Regional Park followed by a community celebration. Those who only want to ride one way can park their vehicle at the park where a shuttle will take them and their bikes to the ceremony at Glenshire. Allison Pedley, executive director of Truckee Trails Foundation, stated that this effort “will transform the way many people in Truckee get around town.” The next two phases, when completed, will connect Donner Memorial State Park to Glenshire.
