The Truckee Town Council has approved several applications through its Economic Development Fund and Economic Development Support Program. The Economic Development Fund has $2.4 million available for construction of public infrastructure, and the Economic Development Support Program has $235,000 available for special events and marketing activities. According to Alex Terrazas, Assistant Town Manager, the following projects have been approved.
Fund Applications:
• Reclaiming the River: $310,000 to acquire riverfront property to support the Downtown Specific Plan and River Revitalization Strategy.
• Dickson Real Estate Center: $70,000-$90,000 to purchase right-of-way for roundabout.
• The Cellar at the Riverstreet Inn: up to $80,000 forgivable loan to construct a sidewalk and make ADA improvements.
• Trout Creek Pocket Park: $50,000 to construct a less-than-1,000-square-foot park at the corner of Jibboom and Bridge Streets.
• Old Jail Museum Mini Pocket Park and Driveway Improvements: up to $30,000 forgivable loan.
Support Applications:
• Truckee Chamber of Commerce Place Based Marketing and Branding Campaign: up to $118,000.
• Sierra Business Council Innovation Hub: $50,000 plus up to three years rent subsidy.
• Nevada County Economic Resources Council Targeted Business Recruitment Program: $10,000.
• Mountain Area Preservation Wild and Scenic Film Festival: $8,000.
