South Lake Tahoe  extends about 5 miles west-southwest along U.S. Route 50, also known as Lake Tahoe Boulevard. From east to west starting on the the California/Nevada line is the neighborhood of Lake Village, Bijou, and Al Tahoe. South, off the lake shore are the neighborhoods from east to west of Black Bart and Pioneer Village, Highland Woods, Montgomery Estates, Pioneer Trail, Heavenly Valley, and The Y Area.
